Heh.. If I tell them I’m recording it, they may not say anything genuine. It’s like a reality show thing: when the camera is on, they’ll act out in front of it.

The restaurant is not the reason for interesting conversation. It’s the people that I hang out with. They’re quite knowledgeable and have plenty of stories to tell.

I don’t write them down. I try to remember them as much as I can. When I get back to my desk at work, I quickly enter them into my tumblr site with rough notes. Then I take a day or two to research the topics and make the appropriate edits into this blog.

I’m thinking my next step is to get a small voice recorder and record the conversation. That might be borderline creepy and invasion of privacy.

panera bread is a great place to have an interesting conversation but , the phone law hasn’t really been emphasized here in PA , although i here talk of it. It’s an important law though … think of all the accidents caused by those who are too busy taking and immersed in the conversation to pay attention to the road!

Hi Rachel,

Thanks for the compliments. We talked about a lot of stuff during our lunches. It’s getting more a challenge for me to remember the details now. I must be getting old.

The cell phone law should be strictly enforced. Just today I saw a guy who tried to merge from the shoulder on a major highway, while his left hand was holding the cell phone to his ear. He didn’t even bother giving the turn signal. That sort of behavior is the reason why such law is in place. People just don’t have the common sense, so the government has to beat them over the head for it.

I love your lunch bits! We are supposed to be hand free on cell phones here in Chicago and I don't think it is enforced at all. Seems really hard to do actually. Rachel's last blog post..What will be the Song of the Summer?
