Lunch Bits - Edition 25

September 26th, 2008 · 1 Comment

We went to various restaurants.  The days were warm and sunny, when we talked about:

  • Mechanical Engineering.  The highest in demand major!
  • Skype is a good VOIP app.  It’s good for video chat too.  Just need a webcam and one of these phone contraption.
  • When do we use math?  Absolutely everywhere, in every studies.  Except Calculus, unless you’re doing R&D in Electronics.  Also, Stats is a useful study.
  • Blade Runner - a classic movie some people never seen.  Also available in HD-DVD, still.
  • Heroes season opening 2 hour episodes.  Mixed feelings about this one.  The consensus is that Tim Kring is trying to do too much in such a short period of time. We’re having a hard time figuring out who’s who with what abilities.
  • Google Android-based phones.  Could this be our next smartphone purchase?
  • Polar Bear tours in Churchill, Manitoba.  It looks interesting and fun, but none of us really want to go because it’s just way too cold over there.
  • Round trip plane ticket from OC to Seattle is around $300 with Alaska Airlines.  Prices have apparently dropped.
  • CFL - do they matter? I guess to Canadians they are.  I don’t care about American nor Canadian football.
  • Long Island Iced Teas for the birthday guys.
