			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s inevitable.  Star Trek is coming back.  It&#8217;s a multi-billion dollar franchise.  Too many legions of Trekkers and Trekkies are not about to be ignored.</p>
<p>The TV series is reported to come back via a <a href="http://www.sliceofscifi.com/2008/01/12/wil-back-on-trek/" title="New Star Trek spinoff series">new Star Trek TNG spinoff</a> with <a href="http://wilwheaton.typepad.com/wwdnbackup/2008/01/announcement-tw.html" title="Lieutenant Wesley Crusher">Wil Wheaton returning as <em>Lieutenant</em><strong><em> </em></strong>Wesley Crusher</a>.  [<em><strong>Edit</strong>: It's for <a href="http://www.startrek.com/custom/include/community/tour/news/article/4.html" title="Star Trek The Tour">Star Trek: The Tour</a>, not another TV spin off.  Thanks <a href="http://jepoyeng.blogspot.com/" title="jepoy site">jepoy</a>!</em>] Meanwhile, I&#8217;m waiting for <a href="http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/series/MOV/011/index.html" title="JJ Abram's Star Trek XI">JJ Abram&#8217;s Star Trek XI</a>, hopefully the beginning of a new series that can restore the appeal and excitement of Trek movies since <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084726/" title="Star Trek Wrath of Khan on imdb">Wrath of Khan</a>.</p>

<li>Possibility of buying a <a href="http://www.ziprealty.com/buy_a_home/search/results/sample.jsp?msg=&amp;page=1&amp;cKey=2fncgz55" title="Real Estate listing Newport Beach">house in Newport Beach</a>.  Maybe not the ones with an ocean view.</li>
<li>Skiing.  I haven&#8217;t ski&#8217;ed in ages.</li>
<li>Confusing the wrong &#8220;Fergie&#8221;: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_ferguson" title="Sarah Ferguson Dutchess of York">Sarah Ferguson</a> the Dutchess of York, and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fergie_%28singer%29" title="Stacie Fergie Ferguson of Black Eyed Peas">Stacy Ferguson</a> of the Black Eyed Peas.</li>
<li>One of us said (paraphrasing), &#8220;Anyone who married a prince ended up getting fat, unhappy, or divorced.&#8221;  Then I quipped, &#8220;That&#8217;s better than dead.&#8221;</li>

<li>Got <a href="http://www.simon.com/giftcard/" title="GC">debit cards</a> as gifts again this year.</li>
<li>They didn&#8217;t announce the people with 5, 10, 15, and 20+ years, anymore.  Instead, just the new hires, and there were quite a few in IT and Finance this year.</li>
<li>They showed a website for <a href="http://www.myheritage.com/FP/Company/tryFaceRecognition.php" title="Face Recognition">Celebrity Face Recognition</a> and poked fun at our VP.   I ran my face to the system and got this:<br />
