How can its outage irk me to a point to blog about it?

Twitter’s a tool that I’ve actually grown to love and use a great deal. It’s definitely not fun to see it go down unexpectedly. It’s like driving on the main highway, where I always commute on, and have it closed down due to an accident. It disrupts my routine, and I even dare to say it stops my productivity. I always want to be “in the know” and well informed. With the current people that I follow, I usually get a lot useful information. I’ve grown to appreciate their contribution to my knowledge base.

When Twitter is down, it just feels wrong. Maybe I should have joined the “Twit-Out” group and not use it for a while. The alternative is FriendFeed where there’s plenty of discussion there about Twitter being down. Just follow Scoble, Shey, and Bwana. You can also find me on FriendFeed.

Let’s hope Twitter Inc. can get their acts together and stabilize the site. I hate to see everyone’s leaving the service and render it unusable.

WordPress has the ability to create a custom page. The tricky part is to figure out what pages to make. I try not to go overboard with my blog because I want to make each page as unique and useful, as possible. Here’s the list of my pages:

About Page
Here you’ll find out who I am, my photo, and my social media site profile links. This is actually a static HTML page, or what I call a “Web 1.0″ page. I started this site with just this index.html file and couldn’t stop using it.

Archives Page
I put all of my categories and monthly archives here, in one easy reference page. This page comes in handy when I’m trying to get an overview my work for the month. This sort of info is used to be on the main page, but that just causes clutter. An archives page is great way to organize it in one place.

Sitemap Page
This page has a list of pages and posts, including the number of comments each post has. This is a feature of this Cutline theme. It’s another useful overview page. Perhaps it’s also useful for search engine crawl-bots to use, although I use a separate sitemap.xml file for Google’s bot.

Communities Page
Here are the bookmarks of the blogs I frequent. I try to “categorize” them into specific communities, such as EntreCard, Tumble Blogs, or even People-I-Know-In-Real-Life Blogs (aka Blogroll).

Contact Page
I believe this is an important page every blogger must have. Posting my email address is a bad idea. It’s a good idea to have a page that enables people to send me a message. Try the WP Contact Form plug-in by Douglas Karr.

Darren Rowse has a bunch of other suggestions on what pages to make in my blog. There are some good ones I’ll consider, like a Series and “Sneeze” pages. Stuff like advertisers or affiliate pages are not for me because I don’t run ads.

What other pages should I have? If you’ve got a suggestion, please comment, or use the Contact page.
