On the 5th day of the Santiago Canyon wild fire, the smoke and ash are still engulfing the Irvine area. This morning around 9am, on the way to work, I took this photo off the Barranca Pkwy car pool exit. The smoke is turning the sky eerie orange. The picture is just a small representation of the severity of the fire. The smoke is irritating the eye and the smell of ash makes it somewhat difficult to breath — I’m indoors with the office’s AC in full blast!
Jon Lansner observed the same thing and wrote about it in his blog.
