Being Afraid

Published by under John,Romans

I’ve felt that awful feeling of being afraid, many times. All sorts of fear, too.  But at my age, the one fear that still lingers is death.  Where will I go after I close my eyes for the last time? What will I feel?  Will my doubts be confirmed? Will I be able to be see Jesus since I’ve accepted Him as my Lord and Savior?

Of course, God has promised that I’ll be with Him because He gave His son for me. The bible says so:

But God showed how much he loved us by having Christ die for us, even though we were sinful. But there is more! Now that God has accepted us because Christ sacrificed his life’s blood, we will also be kept safe from God’s anger. Even when we were God’s enemies, he made peace with us, because his Son died for us. Yet something even greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, we will be saved by his Son’s life.

Romans 5:8-10

It’s a beautiful picture of sacrifice and love.

So how do I know how I’ll be there with God?  In John 3:16, it’s simply accepting Jesus as my personal savior. When I’ve truly accepted Jesus, His grace and love pour out of me – and consequently, I will no longer be afraid.

Price of Love

Published by under John

The greatest way to show love for friends is to die for them.

John 15:13

I am a friend of God.  God is my friend. He longs for that relationship, that fellowship with me.

And He also gives His life to me, so I can be free.

It’s the ultimate sacrifice.  The price of love, Jesus’ way.  What a friendship.  I have a place in heaven because He gave His life for me.

For this, I’m extremely grateful and content.

Joy of Knowing God

Published by under Galatians

God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways.

Galatians 5:22-23

I’ve worked all my life to achieve the level of “joy” that is both fulfilling and sustainable. Can I really be happy all the time?  Can I really be joyful in other days other than Christmas?

Apparently, the bible says I can!  I have to know God and His spirit will give me that joy, peace, and happiness. Knowing God is knowing how to live life according to His design. I’m meant to be with the creator of this universe. Thus, I can only live under God’s rule.  I can only live by His purpose. I have to live up to my purpose, as He made me to be.  It’s extraordinary for me to know God’s with me – and He always want to be with me.

It’s a joy to know you, God!
